Autumn is nigh, and after a long hot Summer, it is high time that we all get out of our air conditioned domiciles, and enjoy the Autumn air and have some fun. The Autumn air can be so intoxicating. It makes me giddy just thinking about it.
Here in Beaufort County, the two biggest events for the month, in my humble opinion, is: the Pirate's Beach Music Festival on Washington's waterfront on Sptember 12, 2010, beginning at 1:00 pm. The promoters request that one bring their friends and their family to enjoy an afternoon filled with Beach Music on the on Washington's waterfront, just east of downtown on the greenspace. The other most important event is in Dowdy Ficklen Stadium, Greenville, NC, when the nationally 10th ranked Virginia Tech Hokies come to town to play our ECU Pirates. VPI is one of East Carolina's longest running rivalries, beginning when both football schools operated out of the old Southern Conference, so let's tailgate and support the Pirates as they attempt to knock-off this football giant.
